As part of the EV36Zero plan, Nissan confirms the Sunderland facility will produce electric versions of Juke, Qashqai, and Leaf. Up to £3bn investment, including gigafactories, supports the transition to an EV manufacturing ecosystem. The project aligns with Nissan Ambition 2030 for carbon neutrality. The next-gen models, inspired by recent concepts, aim for significant changes, with names, specs, and launch dates expected later.

U.S. auto safety regulators are investigating 16 recalls by Hyundai and Kia affecting 6.4 million vehicles due to brake fluid leaks posing a fire risk. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is auditing the automakers' timeliness in addressing defects since 2016. The recalls focus on antilock braking system and Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit issues. Hyundai reported 21 fires, while Kia cited 10. The ongoing investigation highlights the need for prompt safety measures to protect consumers.

Finland's VTT Technical Research Centre successfully tests an E-fuel derived from green hydrogen and carbon dioxide. The paraffinic electrofuel, or E-diesel, powers a diesel tractor in a significant development for challenging-to-electrify sectors. The E-fuel project combines high-temperature electrolysis, carbon capture, and Fischer-Tropsch synthesis. The project refines synthetic hydrocarbons into drop-in E-diesel. The AGCO Power's Linnavuori factory hosts the test, evaluating fuel consumption, emissions, and usability for applications in heavy transport, shipping, and machinery.

Thor Industries introduces innovative EV charging stations for RVs, prioritizing convenience and eco-friendly design. These hubs cater to regular EVs and electric tow trucks, emphasizing a seamless charging experience in rural locations. The setup includes solar-roofed charging spots, restrooms, waste disposal, water-filling, and a tire pump. Thor envisions economic benefits for small towns, attracting visitors and supporting local businesses. The charging infrastructure aligns with the growing role of EVs in the future of RVing.
